Infants

Since infancy is perhaps the most significant period of development, we encourage babies to communicate by playing games like peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake. Our curriculum is based on the belief that a child needs to be nurtured and loved by caring adults. The teachers will hold, sing to, and talk to your child. We give individualized care and attention that will help develop the foundations for language and learning. Feeding, sleeping, and the other activities are all individualized.

We require that an infant be at least six weeks old to be enrolled in the Infant Room. We also require a physical examination and current immunizations before and throughout enrollment. We will compliment your schedule at home, whenever possible. Until your baby is on regular table food, we will follow your written diet plan and use the food you provide. We will update the plan when you change the diet.

Parents are asked to provide the following:

  1. Formula or breast milk for your infant (Please label with your child' name and the date. Dairy milk can be served to children beginning at one year old.)

  2. Disposable diapers and wipes

  3. Baby food/special meals (Please label with your child's name and the date. We will discard leftovers at the end of each day.)

  4. Two complete changes of clothes to be left at the center

  5. A list of allergies (including food, insects, and lotions)

  6. The Center will provide the fitted crib sheets for the infant class only.
